Director of Healthcare(Logistics & Transportation)

This position directs activities that will have a significant impact on customer relations, sales, process operations and sustainability of our Healthcare Department. Through an understanding of dedicated fleet replacement services and transportation, this individual will identify opportunities to increase sales, reduce operational costs, and improve customer service. Our Director of Healthcare is an integral part of the national operations team in our corporate headquarters.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The below listed duties are not all inclusive. This position must also perform other duties as assigned.):


  • Oversee Healthcare Transportation and Logistics Department.
  • Manage the launching and stabilization of new business.
  • Pursue and manage business opportunities.
  • Gain a clear understanding of customers’ business and service requirements to support customers and meet expectations.
  • Understand the direction and guidelines set by the CEO and COO and execute on those directives.
  • Make accurate rapid cost calculations and provide prospects with proposals for service.
  • Develop, maintain, and report on Key Performance Metrics.
  • Strengthen relations with existing customers as well as build new relationships with potential customers.
  • Transportation network design with an emphasis on routing while auditing Key Performance Metrics.
  • Prepare and send quotations and other literature to prospective clients.
  • Investigate root causes and perform corrective action to resolve logistics issues.
  • Produce agreements including all supporting documentation.
  • Negotiate pricing and service aspects to CLOSE new business.
  • Resolve service failures and implement process for continuous improvement.
  • Act as liaison between multiple business units.
  • Monitor and identify data inaccuracies and work within various departments to resolve.
  • Compile and analyze historical data to monitor trends and assist in developing bid packages.
  • Effectively articulate rationale for cost savings opportunities including results of sourcing metrics to Executive leadership.
  • Travel up to 70% to various markets around the country to visit customers, source new business, analyze and audit current operations processes, and make recommendations for improvements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Healthcare, or related field required.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and laws is a MUST
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, in a logistics, transportation, or supply chain environment focused on the Healthcare industry.
  • Proven history of sales achievement.
  • Successful track record in directly driving business, maintaining client relationships and
  • people management.
  • Experience managing teams and setting objectives and goals.
  • Excellent leadership, influencing, organization, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

  • Solid advanced knowledge of distribution management at a strategic level with an emphasis on sales and demonstrated knowledge of Profit & Loss performance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Knowledge or prior experience in CXT is preferred

Salary: $110,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
