Director of Warehouse Operations

The Director of Warehouse Operations manages the day-to-day warehouse resources, communications, facilities and operations of more than 2 million square feet of warehouse space across the country. Under the supervision of the Chief Operations Officer, work directly with operations, sales, accounting, IT, customers, and other stakeholders to provide solid processes and operations of our warehousing resources by using and deploying a real-time warehouse management monitoring system. This role is accountable for profit and loss for the facilities along with driving improvement across multiple KPI’s.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Manage and deploy WMS across multiple facilities.
  • Supervise warehouse personnel and set direction and initiatives for process improvements.
  • Standardize procedures across all facilities.
  • Implement a continuous improvement mentality to find time and cost efficiencies to better serve our customer’s needs.
  • Manage the company’s overall shipping, receiving, cycle counting, and warehouse maintenance functions.
  • Act as General Manager for our Warehousing Division.
  • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision.
  • Responsible for overseeing OSHA and safety compliance.
  • Accountable for budget and P&L of the Warehouse Division.
  • Be primary liaison with our warehouse customer’s.
  • Audit, evaluate and negotiate operational expenses to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Responsible for getting exact costs and quotes to customers.
  • Ensure accurate inventory data across all systems including IMS/ERP, 3PL portals, etc.
  • Recruiting and hiring new workers while also overseeing the activities of staff to ensure that operations flow smoothly.
  • Interface with other departments to increase efficiencies and foster teamwork.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Business/Logistics/Supply Chain or other related
  • 10+ years of prior warehouse / transportation operations experience working within a large warehouse and / or transportation facility.
  • 7+ years of leadership and team management experience.
  • Deep understanding of standard technical systems including WMS and ERP systems.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented.
  • Experience in continuous improvement tools/methodologies to drive customer fulfillment, quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • A “roll-up” your sleeves leader with the ability to collaborate, interact and communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent team-building and coaching skills.
  • Strong values and a bias for action in decision-making.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Proven track record of being an effective leader in a fast-paced, high-volume organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing forklifts.
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,368.68 – $182,085.04 per year
