Freight Manager

The ideal candidate has management experience with domestic freight forwarding and strong transportation industry knowledge and experience.

We are seeking a skilled Freight Manager for our Southern region to lead and manage daily operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations-East Coast, this integral role is designed to improve our transportation capabilities to build flexibility and agility to our organization. This position will travel approximately 40% of the time to various regional locations and is based in Nashville, TN.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Identify vendors, resources to assist in problem-solving for customers with an eye to create greater revenue margins.
  • Act as liaison between multiple business units
  • Handle direct service interaction with large and small customers.
  • Develop and implement business plans.
  • Plan, evaluate, and optimize operations efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Prepare and submit reports on freight activity, costs, and performance metrics to upper management.
  • Manage and settle escalated customer issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in Domestic Freight Forwarding, Final Mile, FTL-LTL, Hotshot and Expedite.
  • 3 years or more experience in management and leadership experience, managing multiple locations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Outstanding organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
